Beijing Photos.

This past March, I spent two weeks in Beijing for a language/culture/service learning trip.

above: The Bird's Nest
below: District 798, which is the art district on the outskirts of Beijing
below: a train ticket, which I unfortunately did not get to keep because the machine swallowed it.

above: the LED promenade at the shopping mall called "The Place."
above: the glass structure on the right is the "National Theatre."  Beijing, being located in the north of China experiences dust storms (the dust comes from the Gobi Desert), and so, one morning I woke up, and everything had a fine layer of orange dust.  I kid you not.  It was a sepia world, at least, for a hours.
above:  paper cutting is a Chinese traditional art...
below:  somehow my attempt at creating an "ornate heart" ended up looking a bit more like a uterus.
below: vegetarian peking duck from a Tibetan restaurant — it was awesome.
