Summer Can Be a Sunny Season

Ahhhhhh, Summertime is here.  For those who are not as neurotic as I am about sun exposure, I am here to say: YOU SHOULD BE.  I know that many like the tan look, but the rays really are not good for your skin, and considering the fact that they skin is our largest organ, we should take care of it!!!!

1.  Tinted moisturizer is a really easy way to work in some sun protection in your daily routine- but the SPF is typically rather low in comparison to the creams.  A number of companies are making tinted moisturizers with SPF, but you can make your own by combining liquid foundation with sunscreen and some regular face moisturizer.

2.  Sun Block/Screen should be reapplied ever 2 hours, and you're supposed to use about a shot glass full amount for your body, and if you're using a spray, you should do a couple layers.  For the Body I like:

Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Spray Sun Block (above)
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer (below)
For the face, I like to use a cream of some kind in the morning, but I like to have powder sun block for the rest of the day.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch (below)

La Roche-Posay (above)
Bare Escentuals Natural Sunscreen (below)

3.  Wear a Sunhat

4.  Stay in the Shade

5.  Don't forget to protect your eyelids, ears, and lips!
